Family Tree Night.

The day after thanksgiving was beautiful.
And without agenda.
So we set off to the countryside by late morning to find a tree farm! After all, we do live in the land of evergreens now....
We attempted some family pics......and found the perfect tree. The mister cut it down with his bare hands (ok...and maybe a saw:), and loaded it up.
The rest of the day was cider and hillside driving and carols and lights and cookies.
These Family Tree Nights are getting better by the year, although if you would have told me last year that I'd be cutting down a tree in Portland within twelve months, I wouldn't have believed you.

Here's to unexpected blessings.....

Happy December!!

  3. We always go the day after Thanksgiving to a nearby Christmas tree farm to get our tree. I love that tradition! And as the kids get older, they enjoy it even more, which makes us enjoy it even more :)
