We ventured up to the county fair recently for corn dogs, fried oreos, rides, & a demolition derby. We had a great time, but it was a culturally interesting event to say the least. Before the demolition derby (something I had never been to), they prayed a prayer and then played "Proud to be an American" over the loud speaker as if it was the national anthem. Then they proceeded to hit each other with really beat up cars for about two minutes. And that was it.
Eadie Cate had a great time, though (we all did), and she successfully endured her first roller coaster ride (with her dad) with a huge smile on her face.
Good times....
